Congressional Delegation Announces Modeling and Simulation Grant Program

The Chairman of the Congressional Modeling and Simulation Caucus, Rep. Randy Forbes (above), teamed with fellow Hampton Roads leaders Rep. Thelma Drake and Rep. Bobby Scott on Tuesday, to announce passage of a $40 million grant program for modeling and simulation programs at institutions of higher education.

Darden College of Education Awarded $600,000 Grant

Karen Crum, Old Dominion University assistant professor of educational leadership and counseling, has been awarded a $655,969 school leadership grant from the U.S. Department of Education. It was one of only 22 DOE school leadership grants awarded nationally.

Gordon Art Galleries Features "Stories from the Earth" Exhibit

An opening reception for "Stories from the Earth, Voices of Contemporary Ceramic Artists," the latest exhibition at Old Dominion University's Baron and Ellin Gordon Art Galleries, will be held from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7. The exhibit, which had a soft opening Aug. 9, continues through Sept. 14.

Beta Alpha Psi Achieves Superior Status

ODU's chapter of Beta Alpha Psi (BAP) has won Superior Status for the second year in a row. Beta Alpha Psi is an honorary organization for financial information students and professionals whose primary objective is to encourage and give recognition to scholastic and professional excellence in the business information field.
