Established in 1980, the Office of Multicultural Student Services functions as an integral component of Old Dominion University’s Division of Student Services. Committed to enhancing educational opportunities, growth, and retention, the Office serves students from diverse backgrounds while heightening the sensitivity of the University to the needs of individuals from various cultures.

Goals of Multicultural Student Services

  • Multicultural Student Services strives to fulfill it’s commitment to students by:
  • Supporting multicultural recruitment and orientation programs.
  • Sponsoring activities that enhance the educational experience of multicultural students.
  • Coordinating peer and faculty mentor programs and tutorial services.
  • Maintaining communication between the University’s diverse population and administration.
  • Establishing policies and procedures, which reflect and reinforce the Institution's diversity.
