Becoming A Memeber

When you join the Old Dominion University Chapter of the SVEA, you also become a member of the state level organization, the Virginia Education Association (VEA) and the national level organization, the National Education Association (NEA).

To become a member:

1. Pay for a membership on the SVEA site. You can do that by clicking Join Today!

2. Then create a Co-Curricular Transcript by clicking Co-Curricular Transcript and follow the below instructions on adding your membership.

-A. Select Create an Account.

-B. Enter your current, active e-mail address (it does not need to be your ODU e-mail address) and a password of your choice. Then, enter the password again to confirm it. You'll be prompted to login using that information.

-C. Login.

-D. Update all of your personal profile items.

-E. The main menu will open with four options: Student Organization, Other Involvement, Community Service, and Unofficial & Official Transcript Requests. Select the Student Organization Link.

-F. Click Join a Student Organization.

-G. Select the Student Organization you want to join. Read the FERPA Statement and Hazing Policy and click the check box if you are willing to have your grades released to your student organization (this is optional).

-H. Then click Join Organization. You will be automatically added to the organization's roster as a general member. If that is accurate, you can logout or use any of the other transcript options.
