The IIWE 2006 ‘Pushing for Sustainability’ seminar focussed on:
- Encouraging the 2006 participants to concentrate on the need to pursue their fields of study and develop their networking resources.
- Presenting sustainable development issues from faculty and the students themselves through Area Presentations.
- Poster presentations: a natural pre-requisite to scientific and engineering research and presentation skills.
IIWE 2006 proved to be successful both from a participant and speaker/faculty point of view. The general evaluations from students suggested a number of improvements and we will endeavour to implement those suggestions for 2007.
IIWE was particularly delighted to introduce speakers to the conference from the professional world. Notably Gilles Martin and Joann Derriennic from Performance Management Partners, Matt Christensen, the Director of European Sustainable & Responsible Investment Forum, Marie Perez from France’ s leading water company VEOLIA and IIWE would also like to take this opportunity to thank Helga Eberling (First Consul in Science and Technology) for providing IIWE with a visit to the German Embassy of Paris to talk about research possibilities in Germany today.
