APPLICATION DEADLINE: Monday May 15, 2006

Admissions information:

Applicant’s profile

The IIWE 2006 is recruiting female and male students in all areas of engineering. Ideally, candidates should be towards the end of their engineering courses. Younger candidates are also welcome to apply if they feel they could profitably participate in this session as well as make a contribution to the institute and its proceedings.

Submission of application form

Candidates may submit their applications immediately, by e-mail only, to IIWE director Molly.Malone@epf.fr Applications will considered “valid” only if they contain all requested information and essays - all incomplete applications will be returned to the senders. Once the faculty letter of recommendation has been received, the applications will be passed to the Paris Selection Committee.

Application deadline

Application deadline for IIWE 2006 is MONDAY MAY 15, 2006

Generally there are still places available up until June 7th, but we do not guarantee this will be the case for the 2006 session. Candidates are therefore strongly advised to apply as soon as possible.

The selection process:

Beginning January 2nd, 2006, the IIWE Paris Selection Committee will confer on a weekly basis to evaluate candidacies received. Applications will be considered in the order of their arrival.

Notification of acceptance:

You will be notified by e-mail whether you have been provisionally accepted into the IIWE 2006 program. If you have not received a response within 10 days after application submission, please contact the IIWE director for information on your candidacy.

Completion of the application process

You will be asked to complete your application to the IIWE 2006 by effecting an international bank transfer covering tuition and housing. Total = 600 euros.

Confirmation of admission:

Official admission to the IIWE 2006 program will be confirmed by e-mail once the bank transfer has been received.

Visas:

It can now take over two months to obtain travelling papers, so if you need a visa to enter France, you are advised to begin the visa process as soon as you receive your acceptance notice. The IIWE will not issue visa application letters after June 1st.

Withdrawal of candidacy:

Applicants who have been accepted to the 2006 program but who need to withdraw will receive a 100% (minus bank charges) refund of tuition if they notify the director before May 15th, 2006. After this date, the refunds will be digressive. (see Practical Information for details)
