Insurance & Financial Services Center

The Insurance Center, established in the fall of 1980, has evolved into what is now the Insurance and Financial Services Center (IFC) of Old Dominion University (ODU), with the following broad objectives:

• To increase the number of students who choose the Insurance and Financial Services (IFS) track of the Finance major.
• To increase scholarship awards and internship opportunities for ODU students who are in the IFS track.
• To provide educational and financial support for faculty in conducting research and in preparing students for insurance, risk management, and financial services careers.
• To increase the interaction of students and the insurance, risk management, and financial services industries by regularly bringing industry speakers to ODU classes and clubs.
• To develop and offer non-degree educational programs and seminars, such as professional financial planning, for the profession and for the general public.
