Percussion All ODU Community Music Division instructors are highly qualified individuals who not only posses the knowledge of the instrument, but also the passion for teaching it. Whether a novice or advanced, our instructors teach students the principals of their instruments that help build a foundation for the rest of their lives. Dale Lazar, percussionist, is instructor of multi-percussion, snare drum, drum set, marimba, timpani, and hand drums. Dale is currently completing his Percussion Performance Degree at Old Dominion University, and is an active performer in the Hampton Roads Community. Dale has performed with ODU’s Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Choir, Theatre Department, CREO, and Chorus and local pop and rock bands. A student of David Walker, Dale has instructed with the Community Music Division’s Summer Percussion Camps for the past two years and has assisted with the Governor’s School of the Arts.
