Ms. Sarah Chapman

Assistant Director of Residence Education, received an M.A.Ed. in Higher Education in 2002 from North Carolina State University and a B.A. in Ancient/Medieval History in 2000 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Previously she was Area Coordinator for University Housing at Appalachian State University.

Mr. Michael W. Clark

Coordinator of Facility Operations, Recreation and Wellness, received an M.S.Ed. in Sport Management in 2012 from Old Dominion University and a B.S. in Sports Management in 2010 from East Stroudsburg University. He has been a Graduate Assistant and Acting Coordinator of Facility Operations for Recreation and Wellness at Old Dominion University.

Ms. Erin E. Colwell

Academic Advisor, Center for Major Exploration, received an M.S. in Education, Counseling in 2010 from Old Dominion University and a B.A. in Psychology in 2006 from Lake Forest College. Previously she was a Graduate Clinical Intern and a Professional Counselor at Old Dominion University.

Mr. Christopher R. D'Ambra

Admissions Counselor, received a B.S in Political Science in 2011 from Old Dominion University. He has been a Regional Recruiter for the Office of Admissions at Old Dominion University.

Dr. Crista Gambrell

Professional Counselor, received a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision and an M.A. in Counseling, in 2010 and 2006 respectively, from Regent University and a B.A. in Communications Studies in 2004 from UNC-Chapel Hill. Previously she was a Clinician at The Center for Balanced Living in Ohio.

Ms. Kathryn M. Hughes

Professional Counselor, received a Master of Social Work in 2009 from Virginia Commonwealth University and a B.A. in Spanish in 2004 from George Mason University. Previously she was a Social Worker at Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Medical Center.

Mr. Z. Andrew Jatau

Professional Counselor, received an M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy and B.A. in Psychology, in 2008 and 2006 respectively, from Wright State University. Previously he was a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor at South Community Behavioral Healthcare Inc.

Ms. Brittany M. Jones

Admissions Counselor, received a B.S. in Communication in 2011 from Old Dominion University. She has been a Regional Recruiter in the Office of Admissions at Old Dominion University.

Ms. Kendra Lawrence

Associate Director of Admissions for Transfer Student Enrollment, received an M.Ed. in Counselor Education in 2010 from North Carolina State University and a B.A. in Psychology in 1999 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Previously she was an Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Dr. Leon McClinton, Jr.

Director of Residence Education, received a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership, a Master of Human Resource Development, and a Bachelor of Science in Textile Management, in 2006, 1994 and 1992 respectively, from Clemson University. Previously he was Director of Residence Life at Virginia Tech.

Dr. Melanie L. Mitchell

Psychologist, Counseling Services, received a Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology and an M.A. in Clinical Psychology, in 2012 and 2008 respectively, from Argosy University and a B.S. in Psychology in 2003 from the College of William and Mary. Previously she was a Clinician Intern at the Counseling and Career Development Center at Metropolitan State College of Denver.

Dr. Adela S. Roxas

Educational and Athletic Support Specialist, received a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and an M.A. in Psychology, in 2011 and 2004 respectively, from Fordham University and a B.S. in Industrial and Management Engineering in 1989 from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Previously she was Educational and Athletic Support Specialist at Old Dominion University.

Dr. JaNaé Monique Taylor

Professional Counselor, received a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology and a Master of Education in Community Counseling, in 2007 and 2003 respectively, from the University of Georgia and a B.A. in Psychology in 2001 from Tuskegee University. Previously she was a Staff Clinician for Student Counseling Services at Mississippi State University.

Dr. John R. Waitekus

Physician, Student Health Center, received a Doctor of Medicine degree in 1998 from Eastern Virginia Medical School and a B.A. in Philosophy in 1973 from Boston State College. Previously he was a family physician at Sentara Family Medicine Physicians and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School.

Mr. Harold Williams, Jr.

Senior Admissions Counselor, received a Masters of Science in Entertainment Business and a Graduate Certificate in Internet Marketing in 2011 from Full Sail University and a B.S. in Communication in 2007 from Old Dominion University. He has been an Admissions Counselor at Old Dominion University.

Dr. Johnny W. Young

Associate Vice President for Student Engagement and Enrollment Services, received an Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction in 1999 from Wayne State University, an M.P.A. in 1990 from the University of Michigan and a B.A. in Public Administration in 1983 from the University of Michigan-Flint. Previously he was Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Director of Academic Advising and the Career Center at the University of Michigan-Flint.
