Lieutenant James J. Black
Assistant Professor of Naval Science, received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from Old Dominion University in 2007. He served in USS WINSTON S. CHURCHILL (DDG 81) as the Anti-Submarine Warfare Officer and as the Fire Control Officer in USS LEYTE GULF (CG 55), deploying to 5th Fleet. Lieutenant Black is authorized to wear the Navy Commendation Medal and the Navy Achievement Medal.
Lieutenant Richard J. Gillick
Assistant Professor of Naval Science, received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska in 2006. He earned his wings of gold as a helicopter pilot in 2007. LT Gillick served sea duty with Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron Two Six (HSC-26) and spent two tours in Bahrain replenishing the ships in the Persian Gulf. He is authorized to wear the Navy Commendation Medal and the Navy Achievement Medal.
Lieutenant (junior grade) Raymond K. Osborne, Jr.
Assistant Professor of Naval Science, received a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering, with a concentration in Biomaterials, from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He commissioned through the NROTC program and reported to the destroyer USS GONZALEZ (DDG 66) in 2009, where he served in a variety of engineering, operations and weapons billets.
