Dr. Cynthia Jones, CQFE Director, has been appointed the College of Sciences A.D. and Annye L. Morgan Professor of Sciences by the ODU Board of Visitors.



Stacy Beharry, CQFE Doctoral student, was awarded Best Student Presentation at the 2009 Annual Meeting of the American Fisheries Society.



Tina Morgan
was awarded a scholarship, one of 19 from around the world and the only American, to attend the University of Algarve under the Erasmus Mundus program.
Erasmus Mundus (2009-2013) is a European Union cooperation and mobility program in the field of higher education that aims to enhance the quality of European higher education and to promote dialogue and understanding between people and cultures through cooperation with Third Countries. In addition, it contributes to the development of human resources and the international cooperation capacity of Higher education institutions in Third Countries by increasing mobility between the European Union and these countries

 

Tina Morgan, as presenter, was awarded  Best Poster Presentation, out of over 550 from around the world, at the Fifth Quadrennial World Fisheries Congress in Yokohama, Japan. Doctoral student Nuno Prista, and CQFE Director Cynthia Jones conducted the research and designed the poster.

 

 

Renee Riley, CQFE Doctoral student, was awarded Outstanding Student Paper at the American Society of Limnology & Oceanography Annual Meeting.
