6th Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium
February 7th and 8th, 2013
The Undergraduate Research Symposium provides undergraduates with the opportunity to present the results of their research projects in a public forum. Students, prospective students, faculty, staff, and community members are invited to explore the latest in undergraduate research at Old Dominion University. The symposium includes poster presentations, oral presentations, and exhibits by students from a wide range of academic disciplines. This is a great opportunity to introduce ODU students to our active undergraduate research community.
Please join us at this year's celebration of undergraduate research and scholarship. The presentations, poster sessions, and art exhibit are free andopen to all ODU students, faculty, staff, and community members.
Friday, February 7, 2014 - Undergraduate Publication Opportunities Workshop
A Workshop Dedicated to Helping Undergraduate Students become Published Authors
This 2-hour afternoon workshop will help undergraduate students who are already involved in research to prepare research manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals. The workshop will guide students through the publication process from the choice of a publication outlet to final manuscript acceptance. Workshop participants will learn the process of publishing, including how to critically evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of their manuscript and how to improve their writing skills to achieve a publishable journal manuscript.
The 2014 workshop is a new venture and is open only to current and previous recipients of Undergraduate Research Grants and Fellowships from ODU's Undergraduate Research Program. Students will be expected to bring their final research report or other written material related to their research that they wish to edit and publish. Future workshops will be open to other ODU undergraduate students as well.Register for Workshop
