Office of Community Relations
The Office of Community Relations, headed by Cecelia T. Tucker, undertakes a wide variety of community relations activities for the University, especially for and with the minority and African-American communities of Hampton Roads. These activities include liaison with community groups; alumni relations; government regulations; student, faculty, and staff recruiting; a continuing concern for improving campus climate and civility; public speaking; specific projects; and representing the President.

Cecelia T. Tucker
The Office of Community Relations is staffed by Cecelia T. Tucker. She began her tenure in July, 1991. Tucker holds an undergraduate degree in Biology from Virginia Union University and a M.S. degree from Michigan State University. Other positions held by Ms. Tucker include: biology teacher, acting executive director for The Urban League of Hampton Roads; director of Women in Transition, YMCA of Hampton Roads; and acting director of the W.A. Hunton YMCA. |
