The University offers 70 bachelor's, 59 master's, 41 doctoral and two educational specialist degree programs as well as eight undergraduate certificate programs and 21 graduate certificate programs.  Through eminent scholarship and an emphasis on innovative and engaging teaching, ODU has developed nationally recognized programs.  Old Dominion University faculty have captured the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education’s Virginia Professor of the Year, Virginia Scientist of the Year, 17 Virginia Outstanding Faculty Awards in the last decade alone, and numerous Fulbright awards.  Our students have been named a Rhodes Scholar, a Truman Fellow, a Fulbright Fellow and USA Today Academic All-Americans.  These awards, and others too numerous to mention here, reflect the high caliber of ODU’s faculty and students.  In addition to our focus on student success, our determined entrepreneurial approach to problem-solving drives cutting-edge research and strategic partnerships with government, business, industry, organizations and the arts.
