The Birth of Modern American Brass This concert features original brass compositions conceived between 1940 and 1959. Three composers are featured: Robert King, Lawrence Widdoes and Leroy Anderson, who wrote for large brass choir after World War II in the American tradition. This sound is defined by the instrumentation of trumpet, horn, trombone, euphonium and tuba.
