For four consecutive years, Old Dominion University has ranked as a top Military Friendly School by G.I. Jobs Magazine. ODU is committed to supporting veterans and their families' transition into civilian life. The University's Military Connection Center serves as a one-stop shop for the academic and personal support of military-affiliated students. Our region boasts one of the heaviest concentrations of active duty military households in the nation--about 23 percent of our student body is military-affiliated.

One of our students, Wyatt Beyer, is a Lieutenant in the United States Navy and a P-3C Naval Flight Officer. Wyatt earned his undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Virginia and applied to our MBA program because he wanted a local, in-person and active learning experience. Under the direction of Kiran Karande, professor of marketing at ODU, Wyatt had the opportunity to conduct a comprehensive businesslike analysis of ODU football fans for Old Dominion University Athletics, the first study of its kind. He believes the well-rounded ODU MBA program, including his global immersion experience studying the major port cities of Western Europe abroad, gave him an edge to thrive in a global business world.

Another of our current MBA students, Michelle Okrasinski, was a naval officer flying F-14 and F-18 aircrafts. She earned an undergraduate degree in biology from the University of South Florida and is now pursuing the MBA and masters of science in accounting dual degree option at ODU. Michelle welcomed a new baby into her family recently and found the MBA office staff, ROTC staff, and fellow students to be flexible and supportive. In addition to the support Michelle has received at ODU, she values Old Dominion University's diverse community of more than 2,000 students from around the world and the real-world expertise and broad business perspective our faculty bring to the classroom.
