With more than 160 nationalities and cultures represented on campus, ODU students benefit from a rich global perspective in the MBA program. As part of the college's recent curriculum innovation, the ODU MBA is deeply rooted in the global nature of business and prepares students to be competitive in an international economy. This global focus earned Old Dominion's MBA program a Top 15 Global Management Program ranking by The Princeton Review and Entrepreneurship magazine.

One of our MBA students from Moscow, Russia, Elizaveta Moiseeva (Liza), is interested in the entrepreneurship role of business, particularly social entrepreneurship, "doing good by being good to others.".She is currently working for a social business startup (Globe In) that sells artisanal crafts on its online platform. Globe In works with artisans in many developing countries by connecting artisans with their customers abroad to help them increase their incomes and live better lives. "Combining my work with Globe In and the ODU MBA program gave me a better educational experience. I was able to apply my knowledge right away."

Ludmilla Grace, a current student from Bavaria, Germany, joined Old Dominion's MBA program because of its high academic reputation. Ludmilla says the global perspective our world-renowned faculty bring to the classroom was key in her decision to enroll at ODU. The program also gave her the opportunity to join a learning immersion experience studying abroad in China. The interaction with fellow students and networking opportunities with local, national and international business leaders have enriched her educational experience. "My company pays for my MBA, so already, I'm highly visible in the organization. I expect higher chances to advance myself at my company and to take on increased responsibilities and interesting projects."

Another current student, Kristine Surgent, completed her undergraduate degree at Penn State. Prior to enrolling at ODU, she worked for State College, Pa. Mayor Elizabeth Goreham and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the world's largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer. Because the majority of Kristine's professional experience is in politics and communications, she joined the ODU MBA program to gain the business knowledge and skills that will prepare her to assume a leadership role. She says, "I have enjoyed the high quality of my professors and the experiences they bring into the classroom. Another thing I enjoy about ODU is the diversity of its student population. My peers have many different backgrounds, which helps broaden my global perspective. In them, I've gained not only new business associates, but also friends." In addition to pursuing her MBA, Kristine makes time to give back to the local community, tutoring homeless children in the Norfolk area for the "For Kids" organization.
