Powhatan I, built in 1978, and Powhatan II, built in 1982, create a complex comprised of 177 two-bedroom apartments that house approximately 708 residents. This complex borders the west side of campus, just a short amble from the Elizabeth River boardwalk, sand volleyball court, barbecue grills and sailing center at Whitehurst Beach. The apartments are also right across the street from the ODU tennis courts.
Each apartment houses 4 residents and is designed with a carpeted living and dining area, full kitchen, and 1 ½ baths. All apartments are fully furnished with single beds, desks, chests of drawers, a dining table with chairs, a couch, wing chairs, coffee and end tables, trash cans, and a lamp. Powhatan offers a central front desk, community room that has a full kitchen and study lounge, two large laundry rooms, vending machines, and covered bike areas.
Residents living in Powhatan Apartments may choose any meal plan on the Housing and Dining Agreement, however, they are required to purchase at minimum the Block 25 meal plan. Please visit Dining Services' website for an explanation of all meal plans.

Students living in this complex have a 10-Month Agreement Period from August 1, 2012 through May 31, 2013. This residential complex is open over break periods (Thanksgiving, Winter, and Spring Breaks). Powhatan is traditionally occupied by upperclassmen students, however due to occupancy needs, freshmen students may be assigned by H&RL to this residence hall.
