- Old Dominion University’s Pretlow Planetarium is proud to bring you a new summer series. This summer we will be starting a new series on May 28th and running until August 13th. Every Wednesday night during the summer we will have a live presentation at the planetarium starting at 8:30 pm. Immediately afterwards, at 9:00 pm, we will be observing the stars and planets talked about during the show using several of ODU’s telescopes. If the weather is cloudy or rainy we will have to cancel the observing session, but the planetarium shows will happen at 8:30 either way. All shows are free, open to the public, and families are always welcome. You do not need tickets or to make any reservations. The doors to the planetarium will open at approximately 8:15.
