Hispanic Heritage Month

Hispanic Heritage Month From September 15 - October 15, the University celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month. Past heritage month celebrations have included guest speakers such as renowned poet Shaggy Flores and Dr. Ines Bustillo, Director of the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean. Other programs have included Café Con Leche, Global Café: Argentina/Puerto Rico/ La Gran Colombia, Women's Issues Panel, a lecture regarding the latinization of America and comprehensive immigration reform, and a Health Fair. The University pays special tribute to the accomplishments, history, and culture of people of Latino/Hispanic descent. Programs and activities focus on the contributions of the Hispanic Culture and its impact on our society.
