About the Learning Commons

The Learning Commons @ Perry Library is a dynamic, collaborative environment jointly operated by the University Libraries, Information Technology Services (formerly Office of Computing and Communications Services) and Academic Enhancement. It creates an environment with access to campus resources, services and expertise offered by several academic departments in a single location, as well as facilitates student learning through exploration, collaboration, and discussion.

    • Open 24/5 during fall and spring semesters (open Sun. at 9am - close Fri. 10pm, open Sat. 9am-10pm)

    • Equipment loans (iPads, cameras, camcorders, voice recorders, laptops, etc.)
    • Self-checkout for books

    • Provides same technology as all ODU classrooms
    • Allows students to practice class presentations

  • Reservable Collaboration Rooms
    • 6 rooms with 4-6 seats
    • 1 room with 8-10 seats
    • Each room equipped with flat panel TV, computer, and laptop hookup
