Sharing Ideas Across Disciplines: What Works?
In September's well-attended Provost's Conversation on Teaching and Learning, members of the psychology department shared ideas that have helped them to engage students or to combine research with teaching in order to build a successful career.
In October, the opportunity to share wisdom passes to members of the history department.
On Thursday, Oct. 8 at 12:30 p.m. in the Conference Room of the Learning Commons@Perry Library, professors Robert Holden and Ingo Heidbrink, assistant professor Megan Nutzman and professor and history department chair Austin Jersild will share their thoughts.
The panel will discuss the instant availability of information - both for students and for professors - and the need to put received information into appropriate context.
In coming months, the physics, management, and religious studies departments will share ideas that have worked with their students. Faculty members, adjunct instructors and teaching assistants are welcome to join the conversations.
