ODU Football VS Middle Tenn., Sept. 26: Expect Traffic/Parking Impacts

On Friday, Sept. 26, the Old Dominion University football team will host the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders at 8 p.m. at Foreman Field at S.B. Ballard Stadium. This game, which will be televised nationally, is expected to draw large crowds as well as impact traffic and parking on and around campus.

By 3 p.m. Friday, all campus parking locations reserved for football must be empty of vehicles while several areas will close earlier in the day (see attached maps for specific times). A special transportation and parking plan has been developed to accommodate the additional traffic and parking demand. Parking attendants from Global Spectrum and ODU Transportation and Parking Services will staff each parking lot on campus to direct traffic as necessary and provide information.

Please consider alternative transportation options such as carpooling, bicycling or public transportation for your trip to campus on Friday, Sept. 26. If you will be on campus on with a vehicle after 3 p.m., please park in one of the General Parking locations listed below.

Additionally, please note that 49th Street, between Bluestone Avenue and Hampton Boulevard, will close at 3:00 p.m.

General Parking:

Parking will be available all-day Friday, Sept. 26, in the following locations:

  • Constant Center North Garage (D) east of Hampton Blvd. between 45th and 46th Streets

When these locations reach capacity, overflow parking will be provided in the grass parking areas east of Hampton Boulevard between 41st Street and 38th Street.

Shuttle bus transportation will be available between these general parking areas and central campus with a special adjustment to the Monarch Loop (see map).
