'Guesstimation' Book by Weinstein and Adam Continues To Get Good Reviews

The sophisticated puzzle book by Old Dominion University professors Lawrence Weinstein and John Adam, "Guesstimation: Solving the World's Problems on the Back of a Cocktail Napkin," continues to get media attention several months past its publication date of April.

Darden College of Education Awarded $600,000 Grant

Karen Crum, Old Dominion University assistant professor of educational leadership and counseling, has been awarded a $655,969 school leadership grant from the U.S. Department of Education. It was one of only 22 DOE school leadership grants awarded nationally.

CCPO Speaker on Monday to Discuss Pollutant Threats from Antarctic Melting

Research involving the long-term persistence of organic pollutants in the Antarctic region will be presented by Rebecca Dickhut of the Virginia Institute of Marine Science at a fall seminar of Old Dominion University's Center for Coastal Physical Oceanography at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8.

Robotic Arms and Virtual Reality To Be Topics Discussed at Rehabilitation Care Meeting

Robotic arms controlled by brain waves and virtual-reality immersion to promote physical therapy are two of the innovations to be addressed when Old Dominion University's College of Health Sciences hosts the annual meeting of the Allied Health Research Institute (AHRI) Sept. 8-9 in Norfolk. The theme of the meeting is "Translational Research in Rehabilitation Care."
