Learning Community:Writing for College Success in Engineering

Writing for College Success in Engineering - ENGINEERING-INTENDED MAJORS ONLY

In this learning community (linked classes) students will examine their current transition to college as well as their desire to become part of the engineering community. Through extensive discussions and completion of specific writing assignments, students will learn to think critically about the collegiate experience, particularly within the engineering discipline, thus better preparing themselves for success.

  • Develop critical thinking skills
  • Develop strategies for planning, drafting, and revising texts both locally and globally
  • Discover their place within the University/engineering -how to contribute, how to seek assistance
  • Develop strategies for success when working with others via peer reviews and oral presentations
