Description
Town-N-Gown, an independent association committed to ODU and its general mission of community engagement, has awarded the Department of History at Old Dominion University a $5,000 grant to foster its program called "Remembering World War I: A Hundredth Anniversary Commemoration." Professors Lorraine Lees (the coordinator of the initiative), Maura Hametz, Brett Bebber, and Tim Orr presented some of their ideas and aspects of the "Remembering World War I" program to an enthusiastic Town-N-Gown audience on 27 March 2014. The department will collaborate with Town-N-Gown in the future on panels, speakers, film events, student essay contests, student research projects, and other things. Many thanks from the Department of History to Town-N-Gown!
