Welcome to the Office of Institutional Equity and Diversity

"It is the policy of Old Dominion University to provide equal employment, educational and social opportunities for all persons, without regard to race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy), national origin, age, veteran status, disability, political affiliation, sexual orientation or genetic information." The Office is an instrument to reflect Old Dominion University's commitment to being an open and free place where all individuals of the community can grow and flourish.

The Office of Institutional Equity and Diversity is responsible for coordinating and monitoring Old Dominion University's Affirmative Action Plans and advising, reporting, and implementing all matters related to compliance with federal and state equal opportunity and affirmative action legislation. This responsibility includes, but is not limited to: monitoring the employment and educational policies, practices and procedures of the University; assisting with the resolution of discrimination and employee relations complaints; and providing education programming for students, faculty, and staff. Additionally, the office administers the Discrimination Complaint Procedure Policy, the Sexual Harassment Policy and Procedures, and the Accommodation of Students with Disabilities Policy Procedures.
