 Military Sports Medicine Research Consortium


Mission Statement
: To become a global leader in providing a multidisciplinary approach to research investigation of injuries that commonly afflict active and retired military personnel.

 

The MSMRC has three main objectives related to the mission:

1 - Identify the most frequent/expensive physical injuries that are experienced by military troops;

2 - Identify biomechanical motion patterns during various military movement tasks;

3 - Develop and refine practical interventions to reduce the risk of injuries in the field.

 

MSMRC at ODU initial project overview:

1 - Epidemiological review of ROTC injuries;

2 - Biomechanical analysis of ROTC motion patterns;

3 - U.S. Military Academies "Epidemiology of jump-landing movements and ACL injuries"
