NCATE is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as the professional accrediting body for schools, departments and colleges of education.

Meeting NCATE accreditation standards helps institutions prepare professional educators for newer, more rigorous licensing standards while studying at Old Dominion University.

The Darden College of Education has created this website to support NCATE's requirements. This site is a continuous work in progress and will continue as a dynamic NCATE site.

In collaboration with all the teacher preparation programs at Old Dominion University, we are preparing for the upcoming NCATE reaccreditation review in February 2004. All necessary information regarding the NCATE accreditation criteria will be found on this website.
