I have
been a career educator for more than 20 years. Upon receiving a Bachelor's
Degree from Louisiana State University in Mathematics Education in 1975,
I began teaching mathematics at Redemptorist Junior High in Baton Rouge,
Louisiana. After moving to Virginia Beach in 1982, I resumed teaching
mathematics and computer programming at First Colonial High School in
Virginia Beach. I received my Master's Degree in Secondary Education
with an Emphasis in Computers from Old Dominion University in 1988.
After "retiring" in 1990 to tend to a growing family, I resumed
teaching part-time at Old Dominion University in the Instructional Technology
program in 1992. Since then I have served in various capacities - adjunct
faculty member, instructor, university supervisor for student teachers,
and currently in the role of lecturer. My responsiblities include maintaining
the department website, professional development activities for College
of Education faculty, and serving as advisor for the ODU chapter of
the Student Virginia Education Association (SVEA).
