Are you interested in becoming a School Library Media Specialist?

You may be eligible for a special on-line graduate program to educate teachers to become school library media specialists.  This program is funded by the Institute for Museum and Library Services (IMLS) and is offered on-line through Old Dominion University.

 

To be eligible for consideration for this grant, you must be:  

             Licensed as a teacher in the Commonwealth of Virginia 
                              (Minimum of Collegiate Professional License)

            
Seeking endorsement as a school library media specialist
                              (This program is designed to recruit NEW LMS to the profession)


            
Currently employed in a school in one of the following divisions:


Region 7
:
  Counties of Bland, Carroll, Giles, Russell, Tazewell, Wythe, Dickenson, Grayson, Pulaski,  Scott, Washington, Buchanan, Lee, Smyth, Wise.   Cities of Bristol, Norton, Galax, Radford.

Region 4:    Counties of Culpepper, Loudon, Prince William, Warren, Arlington, Fairfax, Fauquier, Madison, Orange, Rappahannock, Clarke, Frederick, Page, and Shenandoah.   Cities of Alexandria, Falls Church, Manassas Park, Winchester, Fairfax, and Manassas.

 

There are two options in the program:

            Endorsement on your current teaching certificate.

            Endorsement plus master’s degree.
