Why instructional design?

Although I am only a three-year veteran of the K- 12 environment, it did not take long before I became acutely aware that there were some gaps in the educational process. I am a firm believer in becoming part of the cure if there is a problem that exists and bothers you, so, I became interested in the curriculum design process. It is my intention to identify areas of need and implement programs that will eventually fill some of the gaps in the educational design in our school district. Eventually I would like to compile a database for each Mathematics Standard of Learning that includes an instructional design with support materials. It is my intention to create a portable instruction manual that will become a resource for new teachers to the district.
