Professional Travels

Dr. Dwight Allen has traveled to more than 80 countries. Dwight Allen's creativity, scholarship and teaching have been felt across the United States and abroad. He has consulted and traveled extensively in Asian countries: China, India, and South Eastern Asia. In China, he received Service Awards of Shanxi Institute of Education, Taiyuan, 1991 and Hunan Institute of Education, Changsha, 1992; and in India he won an Award from University of Pune, 1993. He traveled to Europe including Greece, Iceland, Switzerland and Germany where he was honored with an Award of Merit from University of Tubingen, 1972. He consulted on education in African countries including Namibia, Uganda, Swaziland, Lesotho, Malawi, Zimbabwe and South Africa. In Uganda, he received from President of Uganda the Award of Merit for the Establishment of the Tororo Girls School, 1972. The other countries he has traveled are: New Zealand and Australia. These rich multicultural experiences give him a global view of educational issues.
