It is a requirement of all Blackboard courses that you have an Old Dominion University Student e-mail account by the end of the drop/add period. This email account is required to gain access to any of the secured areas of Blackboard courses. If you do not have an e-mail account, you can receive one FREE from computer services or request a new password for an existing account at http://season.odu.edu. It may take several hours for the information about a new account or password to become active in Blackboard, Therefore, please allow up to 24 hours before reporting any login problems to Customer Service.

If you do not own a computer, you still have access to a computer through Old Dominion's computer labs. If you are a distance learning student at a TELETECHNET site, you also have access to a computer and e-mail capabilities at the site.

Even though you may use an e-mail account from another provider by redirecting your Old Dominion email account to your preferred provider, you must have an Old Dominion email account to use Blackboard. If you have technical difficulties opening or using your student email account, contact Customer Service directly at 757-683-3192 or 1-877-348-6503. It may take several hours for the information about a new account or a new password to become active in Blackboard, Therefore, please allow up to 24 hours before reporting any login problems to Customer Service.

Note: If you use another email system to contact Customer Service by email, be sure to identify yourself by your registered name and ID, i.e., Jonathan Doe, jdoe002@odu.edu as opposed to John Doe or JD@hotmail.com, etc.. Also include the course and instructor name and a detailed description of the technical problem including error messages.
