  • Received his BS degree in computer engineering from Lehigh University, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania in 1987, his MS and Ph.D. degrees from Duke University, Durham, North Carolina, in 1989 and 1992, respectively, in electrical engineering. Dr. Leathrum's doctoral research is an investigation of ways to accelerate force computations underlying molecular dynamics and astrophysical simulations on parallel computers. He will conduct research focused on parallel computer architectures, and the mapping of complicated computational problems onto these architectures. Dr. Leathrum joined Old Dominion University as an Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the Fall of 1992.
