Janet Brunelle

Janet Brunelle is a senior lecturer (teaching faculty) in the Department of Computer Science at Old Dominion University and also serves as Assistant Chair: Chief Departmental Advisor (CDA) and Undergraduate Program Director. She has been actively involved in assisting the research efforts for the recruitment and retention of women and minorities in computer science. Janet was selected to be part of the first cohort of Entsminger Fellows responsible for establishing a strong foundation of entrepreneurship at ODU. She has led the instructional body of courses for the internships and professional workforce development. Through these courses (online and F2F) students are guided through the process of software innovation and leadership in a research and entrepreneurial format. The undergraduate program serves over 800 undergraduate majors, provides courses for four other degree programs, and maintains ABET accreditation. Ms Brunelle has received Advisor of the Year awards at the college and national level on many occasions. She is often selected as Most Inspirational Faculty Member for top performing students and award recipients. She serves on six university level committees that include SACS accreditation and Policies and Procedures.
