Dr. Adrienne Hartgerink is the Associate Director of the Nurse Anesthesia Program at Old Dominion University. She earned her BSN from James Madison University, MSN in Nurse Anesthesia from the Uniformed Services University, and her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Minnesota. Dr. Hartgerink is passionate about wellness. She was a member of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) Wellness Curriculum Task Force and served on the AANA Health and Wellness Committee. She has presented to numerous state and national audiences related to student and provider wellness and is the author of the chapter “Health and Wellness in Nurse Anesthesia Education” in the book A Resource for Nurse Anesthesia Educators. Dr. Hartgerink strives to weave wellness related topics throughout her rigorous curriculum. In addition to her academic role, Dr. Hartgerink currently serves on the Virginia Association of Nurse Anesthetists Board of Directors and practices clinically at the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth.
