APPOINTMENTS/ELECTIONS
EDWIN GOMEZ, associate professor of human movement sciences and coordinator, Recreation and Tourism Studies Program, named associate editor of Leisure Sciences for 2012-15 and chair of the 2013 Northeastern Recreation Research Symposium in Cooperstown, N.Y.
KIM BULLINGTON SIBSON, programs manager and asynchronous M.E.M advisor, and Ph.D. candidate in higher education, elected regional coordinator, North America, for the International Association of Student Affairs and Services. Her term is 2013-15.
WAYNE TALLEY, Frederick W. Beazley Chair and Professor of Economics, Eminent Scholar and executive director of ODU's Maritime Institute, elected president-elect of the Transportation and Public Utilities Group. TPUG is an international forum for researchers and practitioners interested in the economics of and public policies toward the transportation and public utilities industries.
SANDRA WATERS, assistant dean, Advising and Transfer Programs, elected to a three-year term (2013-16) on the National Academic Advising Association board of directors. NACADA is an association of professional advisors, counselors, faculty, administrators, and students working to enhance the educational development of students.

JOHN ROTH, assistant professor of art, a solo exhibition of sculpture, "Polymorphic Conveyance," at VisArts in Rockville, Md.; the Fourth Annual Juried Show at Riverviews Artspace in Lynchburg, Va.; and exhibition of a sculpture at Art Aqua, Miami Beach, Fla., with the Mayer Fine Art Gallery during Art Basel Week.

PUBLICATIONS
ROB CURRY, director of advising for Distance Learning, a chapter on academic advising for "The Handbook of Distance Education, Third Edition," 2012. He also contributed to the academic advising chapter in the first and second editions. The book initially debuted in 2003.
