David Harnage Will Discuss ODU Campus Master Plan at CREED Annual Meeting

Old Dominion University's chief operating officer, David Harnage, is the keynote speaker for the 2013 annual meeting of ODU's E.V. Williams Center for Real Estate and Economic Development (CREED) on Wednesday, Nov. 13.

Harnage will speak about the university's proposed Campus Master Plan, one of a series of presentations he has made this fall to the campus and surrounding communities. The event will begin at 8 a.m. in ODU's Ted Constant Convocation Center, with the presentation by Harnage starting at 8:30.

The breakfast and program are $20 per guest, and free for CREED members. For tickets, contact CREED program manager Kyllie Bullion at kbrinkle@odu.edu.

The Campus Master Plan, which got its start in November 2012 and reflects the subsequent input of numerous stakeholder groups - both on and off campus - analyzes existing and vision space needs across space categories and functions: academic space, including classrooms and laboratories; academic support space, such as administrative offices and the physical plant; and auxiliary space, such as the student union, dining and athletics.

While the plan recommends the addition of many new facilities over the years to come, and where they would be located, it does not include a specific timeline. In general, the plan is based on a 20-year horizon.

The CREED annual meeting was rescheduled from September.

CREED's mission is to provide information and resources for the Hampton Roads real estate and economic development communities in their quest to improve the regional economy through job creation and investment.

The center fosters relationships with the development community by hosting topical seminars on key development issues affecting the region and works closely with all related professional service organizations.
