Public Service Week

Public Service Week at Old Dominion University

"Service is the rent we pay for being. It is the very purpose of life, and not something you do in your spare time." - Marian Wright Edelman

The Department of Urban Studies and Public Administration (USPA) and the Strome College of Business hosts PUBLIC SERVICE WEEK @ ODU.

Public Service Week

Public Service Week is open to all citizens of ODU and Hampton Roads. It is intended to energize the campus community and raise awareness of the importance of public service, and the university's role in public service, in the Hampton Roads area.

"When you choose to serve - whether it's your nation, your community or simply your neighborhood - you are connected to that fundamental American ideal that we want life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness not just for ourselves, but for all Americans. That's why it's called the American dream." - President, Barack Obama
