In May, 2003, the Old Dominion University E. V. Williams Center for Real Estate and Economic Development (http://www.odu.edu/creed) was awarded a one-year grant by the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation and the Virginia Real Estate Board to assist in “promot(ing) the improvement and more efficient operation of common interest communities through research and education” (Common Interest Community Management Information Fund Request for
Proposal, 2002). This web-based resource provides links to various products of the grant to include a state-wide needs assessment survey of CIC Board Presidents, access to local government resources focused upon CIC concerns, a research paper that provides principal research in identifying and describing the nature and scope of CIC issues across Virginia, as well as access to other CIC resources as found on the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation CIC liaison web page.
