Economics Club of Hampton Roads

The Economics Club of Hampton Roads is an organization for business and government executives and community leaders who share an interest in the practical implications of economic principles, trends and events. It was established in 1991 as a community service by Old Dominion University's former President, James V. Koch, and is administered by the Dean of the Strome College of Business, under the supervision of an elected board.

Programs

In addition to the annual Economic Outllook Conference, which includes a morning program with forecasts of the global, national, and Hampton Roads economies, the Club organizes at least seven other major programs, normally luncheons, each year. These programs feature top speakers on economic and business issues, especially those issues which most directly impact the Hampton Roads economy.

Membership

Membership is open to anyone who would enjoy the opportunity to hear timely, varied and valuable presentations from nationally known experts as well as regional business leaders. Except for the annual Economic Outlook Luncheon, programs are not normally open to the general public. However, members are encouraged to bring guests. Many members find it useful to bring clients and customers to club programs.

Corporate membership is also available, enabling organizations to send up to three individuals to each program.

Membership Forms

Dues

Individual membership dues are $250 per year, which covers the cost of all Cub luncheons and other activities. Individual member 65 and over dues are $150. If the member is not able to attend, a substitute may attend if timely notification is given. Members may bring guests to individual programs at a cost of $40 each per luncheon.

Corporate membership dues are $575 per year, which covers up to three people at each function. Additional guests may attend at a cost $40 each per luncheon.

Dues are used to help offset the cost of food, club administration, honoraria and travel expenses for speakers.

Sponsorship

Companies may sponsor individual functions to which they would like to bring large numbers of employees or guests. Contact the Executive Director for details
