Institute for Learning in Retirement
Awards 1st Scholarship

The Old Dominion University Institute for Learning in Retirement (ILR) announces the award of its first graduate scholarship to Kimberly Lentz.  Lentz is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in education at ODU.  A graduate of Green Run High School in Virginia Beach, she is the first and only person in her family to attend college.

"I want to be a school counselor so I can help students in their academic conquests because I believe succeeding in education can also help propel you to success in other aspects of life, " said Lentz.

The Institute for Learning in Retirement at the Virginia Beach Higher Education Center established the $3,000 annual graduate scholarship to acknowledge Old Dominion's role in the organization's formation and continued success.  ODU sponsors the nonprofit, self-sustaining ILR, which is governed and led by its own elected board and officers.
