FACULTY- LED PROGRAMS
Summer 2010
East Asia Business and Culture

Now in its 16th year, this program will take students on a visit to Beijing for 7 days and explore the Great Wall of China, the Forbidden City, and Tiananmen Square. Yeungnam University will be our host in Korea (12 days). The program includes lectures on the Korean and Chinese economies, business managerial practices, and culture, with industry tours (e.g., Pohang Steel & Hyundai Motors) and visits to cultural and historical attractions.
*Students must register and pay for MGMT 463/563, ECON 495/595, ASIA 495, FIN 497/697, MKTG 496/696, or INBU 463 (summer registration) in order to participate in this program.

Faculty Leader:
David D. Selover joined ODU's Department of Economics in 1998. Professor Selover's research focuses largely on international economic interdependence
and business cycle transmission in the Pacific Basin. He is presently studying the peformance of Chinese firms. Prof. Selover received his Ph.D. from the University of California at San Diego and his M.A. from San Diego State University. He has done research at the Japan Development Bank in Tokyo. He enjoys studying languages and speaks both Spanish and Japanese. Professor Selover has traveled extensively in Asia and Latin America. |
