Estimated Cost: TBA with scholarship* (see scholarship details below)
Cost Includes: Roundtrip airfare from/to Norfolk, airport taxes, transfers within Brazil, visa, accomodations (double or triple rooms; single supplement extra, if available), breakfasts, welcome and departure dinners, entrance fees, health insurance, study abroad fee.
Not Included: ODU tuition for three credits (participants are required to register for the three credit course), meals other than those indicated above, transport other than indicated above, expenses of a personal nature.
Financial Aid: Students seeking financial aid should obtain a program budget from the Office of Study Abroad. Note: to qualify for summer aid, undergraduate students must enroll in at least 3 additional credit hours; graduate students need only enroll for 3 credit hours to receive financial aid during the summer.
Old Dominion University Scholarships: Dean's Education Abroad Awards are available for the first 12 qualified students accepted for this program. Eligibility: Full-time ODU student, 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher, approval of participation by the Office of Study Abroad and the program's faculty leader. Applications available from the Office of Study Abroad. Deadline for scholarship application for this program is February 15, 2010. If you are eligible, the scholarship award will be credited to your student account sometime in the summer. The Office of Study Abroad handles these arrangements and will notify you via email. If you do not owe the university any money a refund check will be issued by the Office of Finance and mailed to your address from LEO Online.
Estimated Cost Without Scholarship: TBA. For some students, regular student financial aid support can be increased due to the additional cost of studying abroad. See the Office of Study Abroad for a program budget and referral to Student Financial Aid staff who assist study abroad students.
Payment Schedule: $250 deposit due upon application; half of remaining total due on April 13, 2010, and the other half on May 1, 2010.
