SEMESTER/YEAR LONG PROGRAMS

Exchange Programs Oxford Brookes University

Founded as Oxford Polytechnic in 1970, Oxford Brookes is home to 16,000 underdraduate students.  Over 3,000 of this number are international students taking clases in one of more than 40 academic programs.

Oxford Brookes is based at three main locations in residential areas of Oxford with easy access to the city center.  The university has a number of "halls of residence" offering nearly 3,000 single study-bedrooms, some of which are available with "catering" (i.e., a meal plan).  Facilities generally accommodate both sexes, although single sex accommodation may be arranged on request.

Students also have access to all university facilities, including sports facilities, computer laboratories, libraries, and more.  The Centre for Sport at the Headington Campus consistently ranks as one of the best facilities in the satellite TV, music systems, gaming areas and pool tables.  The Helena Kennedy Student Centre (HKSC) on the Headington campus regularly hosts club night (every Friday 9 PM - 2 AM), guest lectures, balls, film nights, comedy acts and live music acts.

Oxford Brooks University has a well-established International Office which employs an Academic Coordinator who acts as a personal advisor to all exchange students.

The City of Oxford

Oxford is located in the center of England, approximately on hour north of London by train.  The city's population of more than 141,600 includes some 25,000 students.  Oxford is full of cafes, pubs and restaurants.  You will find 17th century inns, the oldest botanic garden in the country and the prestigious Oxford University Colleges which date back to the 13th century.  And when you need a break, you will never be far from trees, green spaces or water and delightful places to walk or wander or "punt on the river."
