6/15/11 - The English Language Center will be welcoming a new full-time ESL Instructor on June 27th. Ashley Green received her MA in Linguistics from the University of South Carolina and holds a BA in French from Lousiana State University. Ms. Green was most recently an instructor at the Kansas State University English Language Program, where she served as curriculum and assessment chair for writing and developed a professional development group for faculty.
6/15/11 - The English Language Center moved back to 1108 Dragas Hall in May. The newly renovated ELC office features a new student lounge area with a large screen TV. About 30 new DVDs and 50 new books have been added to the Student Library, and a new and improved system for checking out materials is currently being developed.
6/9/11 - Students, faculty, and staff from the ELC enjoyed some fun in the sun with a picnic at the Sarah Constant Beach Park and fishing on the Ocean View Fishing Pier.
5/2/11 - The English Language center moved from 123 Spong Hall back to newly renovated 1108 Dragas Hall.
4/21/11 - The April 21st edition of InsideODU ran an article about Blue Goes Green Week, which included information about the ELC/OIR initiative called "Experience America."
4/8/11 - 60 ELC Students and instructors enjoyed a trip to the Virginia Zoo on April 7th and got to experience the new "Trail of the Tiger" Exhibit first hand.
