About the Senior Assessment Process:
The Senior Assessment is a University requirement for graduation, which consists of the Senior Student Satisfaction Survey (SSSS). It must be completed during the semester in which the senior plans to graduate. Graduating seniors who have applied for graduation by the deadline established by the Registrar's Office will receive a personal invitation to take the SSSS three weeks into the graduating semester. Graduating seniors who have not completed the SSSS will receive a reminder e-mail invitation, to their ODU e-mail address only, three weeks prior to graduation.
Graduating seniors applying for graduation after the deadline established by the Registrar's Office must complete the Assessment Request Form. All requests are processed within 24 business hours, Monday through Friday.
After completing the SSSS, it is recommended to close your browser for security purposes. Within 24 hours, Monday through Friday, of successfully completing the SSSS each student will receive a confirmation e-mail, sent to their ODU e-mail address. Additionally, students academic records on Leo Online, will be updated within 24 hours, Monday through Friday, after successfully completing the survey.
Failure to complete the survey prior to the respective commencement ceremony will not impact the student's ability to participate in the ceremony. However, neither the final transcript nor the diploma will be issued until a student has completed his/her assessment.
LOST or RESEND INVITATIONS: Students who need an invitation to complete their SSSS need to complete the Assessment Request Form. All requests are processed within 24 business hours, Monday through Friday.
VERIFYING COMPLETION OF THE ASSESSMENT: The LEO Online Degree Evaluation tool allows students to verify the completion status of assessments. For specific details on the Degree Evaluation tool please refer to http://www.odu.edu/ao/registrar/registering/degeval/index.shtml. Please remember, student's academic records on Leo Online will be updated within 24 hours, Monday through Friday, after successfully completing the survey. A new degree evaluation must be generated after the student's academic record is updated in order to reflect the requirement has been met.
Students completing more than one undergraduate degree are required to complete a Senior Assessment for each degree. When verifying this requirement has been met, please check the term the assessment was completed to ensure it was the final term of the current degree.
