LISA A. DRAKE, research assistant professor, and FRED DOBBS, associate professor, ocean, earth and atmospheric sciences, “Microorganisms: Potential Invasive Species in Ships’ Ballast-water Tanks” at the Ocean Research Conference.

GARY R. EDGERTON, chair, and KYLE NICHOLAS, assistant professor, communication and theatre arts, “‘I Want My MTV’: Genre as a Networking Strategy in the Digital Era” at the annual conference of the Society for Cinema and Media Studies in Atlanta.

JOHN A. FAHEY, associate professor emeritus of foreign languages and literatures, a panel presentation on “Cat and Mouse in Enemy Territory?” at the Allied Museum in Berlin, Germany. The presentation was part of the opening week of the museum’s new exhibition of the Western Military Missions, which operated behind the Iron Curtain in East Germany during the Cold War. Fahey represented the U.S. military at the opening. He also wrote an article, “Communicating with the Enemy,” for the museum’s exhibit publication.
