Global Spectrum, the company hired by Old Dominion to manage the Ted Constant Convocation Center, has announced its lineup of fall events to follow the 8,600-seat venue's Oct. 25 grand opening (see story, this page). The Constant Center's concert series will begin when the platinum record-selling Counting Crows take the stage Oct. 28, followed in November with performances by the chart-topping Ludacris and the legendary Roberta Flack. Events for the inaugural month include: "Our goal is to provide something for everyone in the Hampton Roads community at the Ted Constant Convocation Center," said Global Spectrum's Doug Higgons, the center's general manager. "I think the Constant Center's opening month reflects that, and there's much more to come." Along with the wide variety of concerts and events, the Constant Center will be home to the ODU men's and women's basketball teams. The highly anticipated Lady Monarchs' home opener will be at 7 p.m. Nov. 22 against the University of Virginia. The men's basketball team opens its regular season at 2 p.m. against ACC perennial power North Carolina at 2 p.m. Nov. 24. For tickets to the Counting Crows and Ludacris concerts, Sesame Street Live and WWE, call the Constant Center box office at 683-4444. Tickets are also available at any Ticketmaster outlet or through ticketmaster.com. For tickets to the Nov. 17 dedication dinner and concert call 683-3116.
