Reserved parking space, basketball tickets are contest prizes for Annual Fund contributors

If you haven't turned in your Annual Fund contribution yet, it's not too late. The campus campaign is scheduled to end Friday, April 6.

By press time, 362 donors had contributed $61,171 to the campaign, amounting to 58 percent of the $105,000 goal. In the lead for the participation trophy is the President's Office at 66 percent, followed by Athletics at 39 percent.

Employees whose gifts total $100 or more will automatically be entered in a contest to win a reserved parking space for one year. Contributors who designate gifts of $100 or more to the Big Blue Club will also be entered in a drawing to win two season tickets to either the men's or women's home basketball games for the 2001-02 season.

Also known formally as the Intercollegiate Foundation, the Big Blue Club is the fund-raising arm of the athletic department, responsible for securing funds for athletic scholarships and other initiatives.

Gifts to the campaign may be made by payroll deduction.

"A commitment by faculty and staff to give back to the university signifies loyalty, and I believe it is a sign of a healthy institution," said Don Runyon, assistant vice president for administration and finance, and co-chair of the 2001 Annual Fund campus campaign.

"For us as employees to contribute to the Annual Fund sends a message to our students, to fellow faculty and staff members, and to state legislators that we care about and believe in the mission of Old Dominion University."

The theme of the 2001 campaign is "Together We Make the Pieces Fit." TOP
